![]() ![]() When I took it to Gene I said can you fix the firing pin and is there anyway you can re-blue it. I did try to do some cold bluing as a teenager and made a mess out of it but it wore off quickly. I can't remember how many times I asked someone if they would re-blue her and they told me the barrels were soft soldered together and would come apart during the bluing process. Most of the bluing was off but I always kept her oil down so no rust. At some point I broke the full chokes side firing pin. I had to say I beat it to death carrying it through the woods and shooting very hot hand loads out of her. When I was a kid this was my shotgun I used. I considered these two guns family treasures and wanted to see if both could be restored back to factory new or as close as I could get.Ī little history on the AYA. Every part on the inside and outside was rusted. When I got both guns back they were completely rusted shut and couldn't be opened. ![]() Both the Winny and the AYA had sat up in my dads attic for over 25 years uncased and dad lived six blocks from the ocean. Yesterday I posted pics of my pops Win 94 that I had restored.
